About UsBDG was established in 1998 by Paddy Baxter and Jeff Brown.
BDG is an energetic team of Landscape Architects involved with many high profile projects throughout the Southern Lakes region, Central Otago and other main centres throughout New Zealand and the Pacific. Our extensive portfolio of work covers urban and rural landscape masterplanning, resort development, public streetscape and parks, rural subdivision, residential design and landscape assessment and planning.
BDG is owned by the directors Paddy Baxter and Brooke Mitchell. BDG currently has four Landscape Architects, a horticulturalist, two CAD staff and oneadministration staff. We operate a team approach to the studio, sharing our views and input in a centrally located office in Queenstown.
Our practise is registered with the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA) and three of our senior landscape architects are registered members of the institute. We regularly attend landscape conferences, workshops and seminars to attain points to maintain our registration with the institute.
We enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and have worked with a variety of District Councils, government departments, private clients and consultants. BDG is currently working on a variety of works with the Otago and Southland regions, from major resort and commercial development works, main street upgrades within the Queenstown CBD, rural and urban masterplanning and many high end residential developments within the wider Lakes District.
As part of the process associated with such projects we are experienced and familiar with key design stages that range from public consultation and site survey and analysis through to conceptual design work, documentation and implementation. The company is one of the largest Landscape Architectural consultancies in the lower South Island and that enables us to deliver results.
