Remarkables House

This house occupies a stunning site on the western flanks of the Remarkables range, accessed via the Remarkables skifield Road. Baxter Design Group were involved in the design of the exterior spaces including driveway and bridge layout and design detailing, site planting, pond design and detailing and the weir and jetty associated with the pond.

The design response sought to minimise 'formal' landscaping design and instead 'fit' the dwelling into the wild landscape it occupies. The pond is reminiscent of an alpine tarn, with minimal intrusion into the surrounding landscape.  Materials and planting choice reflects the local materials.
